#10. Toshiba Click 2 Pro FHD Touch 2-In-1 Ultrabook LaptopToshiba Click 2 Pro 13.3 laptop

With incredible features and a really fair price, this Toshiba is very promising for anyone who’s starting a home business and can’t afford to buy a brand new laptop.

This model is refurbished but the insides are quite worth it and the 2 in 1 feature allows you to detach the keyboard and obtaining a very powerful tablet to take everywhere you go.

Sadly, several Amazon users have reported poorly made materials and some failures from the exact moment they received the product.

Nevertheless, there’re also really great reviews but we guess that it all depends on your luck.

Even though, if you have no issues with the physical product itself, you’ll find a very powerful machine that will suit your home business needs very well

  • Very powerful thanks to its 4th generation Intel Core i7-4510U mobile processor with ultra-low voltage platform. This feature allows it to be very potent without consuming so much energy.

Toshiba Click 2 Pro 13.3 laptop

Performance

Ideally, this machine is great when it comes to home business laptops that are starting up.

With a light use, it will perform formidably.

Thanks to all its components you will be able to run almost any task very fast and without overcharging the machine

But if this laptop has to endure too much travel or extra-use it will probably fail.

Actually, this machine wouldn’t ever be in the last position if it weren’t because of its fragility, poorly made materials and refurbish

But sadly, it won’t be of much help if you need to overuse it.

On the other hand, as the first inversion for a small business, it will work perfectly and probably help you to recover enough money to buy a better model.

PROS & CONS OF THE Toshiba Click 2 Pro

PROS

  • Excellent processor and general system that would work great with a strong hardware.
  • You can detach the keyboard for using the laptop as a potent tablet.
  • It’s very affordable taking into consideration the technology this laptop offers.
  • Excellent features for watching media content such as HD screen and enhanced colours.

CONS

  • Several users report manufacturing defects so it’s probable that you have to ask for a replacement.
  • The replacement system is not very good, it might take several weeks for you to obtain a functional machine.

#9. 2018 Newest Dell Flagship Laptop PCNewest Dell Premium Laptop

Even though this laptop is indicated for gaming, it seems that the speed of its performance can be very variable.

This model is ideal for small business except for the fact it doesn’t include Office, so you would have to buy it separately.

But when it comes to functioning, users have reported it works well enough most of the time.

If you use some programs that will need good graphics to run, this laptop will have you covered but don’t overcharge it or it might crash.

With a whole terabyte of intern memory helps it start-up faster. This laptop is not designed for double purpose so it doesn’t have a touch-screen, even though some reviews indicate that it does.

As it is one of the newest Dell products, expectations are still on the table, but in comparison with the previous model, and for the price it is offered, it seems to be a very worthwhile option if you want to invest in home business equipment.

Features:

  • 7th generation Intel Core i3-7100U mobile processor with SMART dual-core processing.
  • 15.6” LED backlighting screen with Truelife HD technology.
  • 8 GB DDR4 memory
  • 1 TB hard drive (one of the most remarkable features).
  • Intel HD 620 graphics
  • 3 USB 3.0 port.
  • Integrated Bluetooth 4.0

Newest Dell Premium Laptop

Performance

Supports intense use when it comes to graphics, but you should make sure to not overload it by trusting its good performance as it may suddenly crash.

Intermediate design or editing programs will run smoothly with one project at a time.

Thanks to its incredible 8th Gen processor the computer general functioning should be stunning.

Nevertheless, failure and slow performance have been constantly reported by the users and the lack of help from Dell makes us doubt about its real potential.

That’s why this is rated so low in this review.

PROS & CONS OF THE Dell Premium

PROS

  • Excellent graphics are ideal for gaming, streaming videos or running graphics programs. If you own a home business and need constant use of graphics without it being abusive, this is your model.

  • Great processor technically helps the computer run faster in general processes.

  • Up to 8 hours of battery lifetime.

  • It doesn’t include Office so you would have to buy it separately if you’re planning on using it for work.
  • Users report a malfunction in several cases and poor response from the brand
  • It has no touch-screen

#8. Dell Display UltrabookDell XPS13 13.3-Inch Laptop

A very fair and simple certified refurbish with a fair price claims to be good as new in every aspect, with original pieces and a 180 days warranty.

As with most refurbished equipment, you’ll need to trust a bit on luck, as users report some of them working smoothly while some other present failure.

Apparently, the most constant failure appreciated in this model is the charger and/or battery.

They tend to fail after a few months of use, even though some users report to have worked with the computer for a couple of years before presenting this problem.

Having into consideration that this laptop is a very affordable model, the failure may be understandable, but it’s still an issue.

On the other hand, the computer is incredibly fast and can run almost any program except for too exigent graphic needs.

It may also need some restart for running apps correctly but when it comes to internet and work use, it’s the perfect laptop.

Ideal for people who has to write a lot as the trackpad is great and the keyboard is really comfortable, this makes it a really good home business gear.

Features

  • Certified refurbish
  • Infinity display 13.3 inches Full HD (1920 x 1080) Backlit WLED Screen
  • 5th Generation Broadwell Intel Core i5-5200U 2.20 GHz
  • 4 GB RAM (DDR3)
  • 128 GB SSD
  • Intel HD Graphics 5500
  • lightweight only 2.6 lbs
  • Microsoft® Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

PerformanceDell XPS13 13.3-Inch Laptop

Generally works really fine, but it may have internet problems if you upgrade the OS.

It exceeds the expectations when it comes to speed and media display, even though it’s not functional for high graphics needs programs.

So, if you’re planning to use it for editing video, gaming, or the likes, you may choose another option. But if your media needs limits to streaming video or intermediate graphics, it will work perfectly.

PROS & CONS OF THE Dell XPS13

PROS

  • Ideal for light work at home as it runs smoothly with regular programs and internet.
  • Incredibly portable as it’s really light.
  • World’s first Infinity display; a non-border screen that maximizes the visual experience 1920-1080 HD

  • Really comfortable keyboard, excellent for writing purposes.
  • Turbo boost technology allows it to process up to 2.70 GHz.

CONS

  • Constant report of charger failure.
  • The charge port is directly connected to the motherboard so, if the charger failure damages it, it’s better to buy a new laptop instead of trying to replace it.
  • You need to buy Office separately if you want to use it for work.
  • Performance fails if the OS is upgraded to Windows 10, especially when it comes to apps that may present functionality issues.
  • You can’t upgrade the RAM memory and it only includes 4GB

#7. High-Performance HP LaptopHigh-Performance HP Laptop

The lowest price on this top “#10 best home business laptops review”, but still a good rating and great features.

All this makes this laptop an excellent deal for a very small home business.

Really thin and delicate but still looking good (not cheaply constructed), this laptop can be easily carried from one place to another.

Several users report a very slow performance and constant upgrading, but this can be fixed.

It seems like, for getting it to cost that low price (less than $300 on Amazon), it was loaded with a lot of junkware.

These are useless and heavy programs that consume all the memory and end up making the computer run really slow and even crash.

They may also be the reason why the updates don’t seem to come to an end. But, users report that by making a recovery restart, the machine will work fine.

Features

  • AMD Quad-Core A6-7310 APU (2 GHz, up to 2.4 GHz
  • AMD Radeon R4 graphics
  • 4 GB RAM (expandable up to 16GB)
  • 500 GB HDD
  • 1 3.0 USB port
  • 2 2.0 USB ports
  • Multiformat SD card reader.
  • Full-size keypad with the numeric pad included.

PerformanceHigh-Performance HP Laptop

As we mentioned before, this home business laptop can include some unnecessary programs that will make it look slow at first

But the truth is that this laptop has a really higher benchmark (rating) in its performance than any other gear with this price will have.

This means that, if you follow the procedure of recovery reset and load only the software that you really need, you’ll have a very decent computer for any small business.

You can take advantage of this laptop for editing photos in a basic level, watching or streaming all your favourite videos, using the internet and it even supports some casual gaming.

Multitasking is allowed with these laptops if you don’t compromise too much graphics needs. Any use beyond that would be too much for this laptop.

PROS & CONS OF THE High-Performance HP

PROS

  • Light and thin makes it very portable.
  • Even though it’s delicate, the materials look like good quality, not cheap toy-like structure.
  • It includes InstantGo technology that would make multitasking run very smooth once you get rid of the junkware.
  • BrightView glossy screen for a better appreciation of colors and image.
  • Even though you can multitask in a basic way with the 4 GB RAM memory, you still can upgrade it up to 16 GB for better performance.
  • Incredibly low price for its features.

CONS

  • If you don’t know a thing about how to restart the laptop and get rid of the junkware it may be hard to work with it. (Or you’ll need the help of a technician).
  • Not the most powerful processor in the market, but fine for its price.
  • Only one 3.0 USB port.
  • Constant upgrade need that may take 30 minutes each.
  • Multitasking is very intermediate if you don’t upgrade the RAM, running several apps at a time could make it crash easily.
  • The battery may not be as durable as they promise.

#6. Lenovo ThinkPad E560 LaptopLenovo ThinkPad E560 Laptop

We now enter a better quality range of products suited for small to medium business that not necessarily perform at home.

The Lenovo ThinkPad was designed thinking about small business owners.

Whether you own a small establishment or work from home, this laptop covers everything you need.

It includes Windows 7 PRO so you won’t have to purchase the Office software separately; you can start using it for work by the very second it arrives.

It will process basic multitasking so you can create documents, check your e-mail, surf the net and even stream media content at the same time.

It also includes a Windows 10 license so you can upgrade if needed.

Features

  • 5th or 6th generation 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 6200U
  •  15.6″ Display With HD 1366 x 768 Screen Resolution
  •  Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520
  • 4 in 1 card reader
  • Fingerprint reader
  • 4 GB RAM memory (upgradeable up to 16 GB)
  • 500 GB SATA hard drive
  • Windows 7 Pro and Windows 10 license.
  • Bluetooth 4

PerformanceLenovo ThinkPad E560 Laptop

Though it does include some junkware that you might want to get rid off for achieving the best performance, this laptop really runs fine.

It allows multitasking to an intermediate level, as we said, and if the CPU turn a little bit overloaded, the processor can get up to 2.8 GHz to compensate it.

Also,  it’s really easy to set up and really quite, only occasional buzzing when working on several apps at a time.

It really matches the price, which is actually affordable; so you’ll get a fine laptop that will endure all the office work even if you use it for personal activities, too.

Thanks to its expandable RAM memory, you can obtain a really fast and smooth running for even editing photos or home videos.

PROS & CONS OF THE Lenovo ThinkPad

PROS

  • Good quality materials and construction, failure reports are very few.
  • Intermediate multitasking available, excellent for small business and the processor can push a bit more when needed.
  • The 4 GB RAM memory gives it space for multitasking as said before, but can be upgraded up to 16 GB for heavier duties.
  • It’s light and thin, very portable.
  • As it’s designed for small business, it comes with Windows 7 PRO and can be upgraded to Windows 10.
  • It includes an HDMI outlet.
  • Excellent value/price relation.

CONS

  • If you want to upgrade the 4GB RAM memory you have to do it in pairs. This means you can only connect to equal RAM memories at a time, so for upgrading to 16, you’ll need to buy 2 8GB RAM memories.
  • No LED lights that indicate when the CPU is working at its top capacity.
  • No good for gaming and only suitable for editing photos and videos if you upgrade the RAM.
  • Windows updates will take its time.
  • It includes junkware that must be uninstalled before anything for the laptop to work fine.

#5. Dell Ultra-Thin LaptopDell XPS9560-7001SLV-PUS 15.6 Laptop

Difficult to place in this best home business laptop review, this laptop offers some features that are out of the question unique. Including, of course, the fact of having a 4K screen.

But also, it is really expensive in comparison with the previous models and even with further models that seem to respond better.

Due to the high tech of the components, some of them may have a bit of incompatibility creating performance issues.

Actually, users report so many crashes and failure that it really affects its ranking.

In the end, it’s of not much use to have incredible features if the machine can’t cope with them.

The truth is that the this Dell Ultra-thin has much to offer as it is, as the name implies, one of the thinnest gear available on the market, being 59% thinner than the MacBook Pro.

Also, it includes an incredible Infinity display in a really smaller case which is impressive.

Features

  • 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ Quad Core Processor up to 3.8 GHz
  • 16 GB RAM memory (upgradeable up to 16 GB).
  •  512 GB SSD
  • 15.6-inch 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) InfinityEdge touch display
  • Windows 10 home pre-installed
  • 4GB  GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card.
  • 170° view angle
  • Touchscreen

PerformanceDell XPS9560-7001SLV-PUS 15.6 Laptop

Ideally, this laptop is incredibly fast and would out stand the performance of any other model in this list easily.

The thin is that too many users report heavy issues that avoid the right functionality of the laptop.

One of the worst issues is that it freezes a lot and it may take from 1 to 10 seconds to keep going.

But the worst part when talking about performance is that several users report having “blue screen” on many occasions which can kill the machine in a second.

Some of them wouldn’t even boot and forget about heavy gaming, even though its graphics card.

This is really awful as this laptop could be a monster. And those are only performance issues; see the “cons” section for more information.

PROS & CONS OF THE Dell Ultra Thin

PROS

  • Great 15 inches screen with no need of a heavy or big structure, it’s still portable.
  • 4k display with infinity screen makes it an amazing video experience.
  • It includes all the ultimate ports (3.0 USB, HDMI, etc)
  • Really fast when it works fine.

  • Commonly blue screens
  • Dells programs interfere with one another.
  • The laptop is very loud.
  • Extensive manufacturing failure and really poor Dell’s customer service; can be a nightmare to get a repair, replacement or refund.

#4. Dell Latitude 5580 LaptopDell Latitude 5580 Laptop

One of the newest Dell models, this laptop is in the fourth position because there’re still not enough performance reports to actually place it by user experience.

Nevertheless, the specs look very promising and ideally it should actually work very fine, to the pair of the next two models.

Unless this laptop has any weird issue, like some good models that were placed below, this will definitely be an excellent tool for any small or home business.

Dell claims that it’s designed thinking in your business performance and security which seems to be perfectly backed by its features.

  • HDMI port

PerformanceDell Latitude 5580 Laptop

As it is designed for work, this home business laptop promises an excellent performance backed by a very good 7th gen processor, good RAM capacity and great storage.

Also, they promise a day-long battery durability so it probably will be good still at full use.

Nevertheless, we’ll need to still wait a bit for knowing the general performance and user experience on this laptop.

PROS & CONS OF THE Dell Latitude

PROS

  • Special security system Dell ControlVault
  • Great processor boosting gives it real power when needed.
  • The screen is really big and full HD

CONS

  • It hasn’t been reviewed enough to prove all those amazing features actually work like promised.
  • The hard drive is not SSD.
  • No touchscreen.
  • Only works with Windows 10 and Linux so it’s not for Windows 7 lovers.

#3. Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga 2nd Gen 2-in-1 LaptopLenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga Laptop

Definitely, the Lenovo Yoga is one of the best equipment when it comes to home business laptops.

Even though it doesn’t have much storage memory, this can be easily solved by expanding it while its other qualities make this laptop a really powerful machine.

A 2-in-1 laptop that can bend the keyboard for using it as a base for demonstration purposes, and can also be used for watching conferences, tutorials, etc. while doing other home duties.

With one of the lightest bodies in the market and a very comfortable keyboard, you won’t have any problem for long periods of writing while using the internet.

Its 7th gen i5 processor is already really powerful but this includes a Turbo technology that boosts processor
power a lot if hard work is needed.

That’s why this laptop is so good for home business and general use, as you can multitask without compromising the functionality.

Though, it’s a bit expensive.

Features

  • Intel Core i5-7200U 2.5GHz with Turbo Boost for up to 3.1GHz
  • Intel HD Graphics 620
  • 8 GB RAM memory
  • 180 GB SSD
  • 14 inches Full HD screen

  • Fingerprint reader
  • Thinkpad pen Pro included
  • Thunderbolt 3 port
  • Windows 10 pro
  • 4 3.0 USB ports
  • Touchscreen
  • Micro SD card port

PerformanceLenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga Laptop

As we mentioned, multitasking will never again be a problem with its boosted processor.

Maybe the RAM memory could affect a bit but you can expand it if for a reason the 8GB is not enough for your business.

This machine doesn’t overheat but battery may be an issue if you need to use it to the fullest; it would only last 5-6 hours or maybe 8 if you reduce the brightness on the screen.

If this is not an issue for you, the performance on this laptop will definitely fill all your needs.

PROS & CONS OF THE Lenovo Thinkpad X1

PROS

  • The processor includes Turbo Boost technology that increases the power from 2.5 to 3.1 GHz if needed.
  • It’s really light and portable besides having multiple uses as it is a 2-in-1
  • The screen is big and glossy and the image is simply beautiful
  • It includes a ThinkPad pen.
  • It includes Windows 10 pro 64, ideal for using it for business and document creation, etc.
  • The mini SD card slot is ideal for helping with the storage issue as you can use one with great capacity as an external hard drive for your work material, videos, pictures, etc.
  • The Processor booster makes it work with a better capacity than other laptops that are supposed to be superior.

CONS

  • The SSD has a really low capacity in comparison with other similar models.
  • The keyboard layout can be complicated as they swap the left Ctrl and Fn keys.
  • Speakers are not good; they would lack volume even at full power.

#2. Microsoft Surface LaptopMicrosoft Surface Laptop

Very similar to the last model, this home business laptop adds some great advantages over the Lenovo Yoga, starting with doubling the storage space.

But maybe the best feature that makes this laptop so good for any business is that it’s from Microsoft, so yes it’s backed-up by them and it includes Windows 10 Pro with Office.

It’s very powerful and the design and colors are unique, very attractive and also comfortable; it’s really thin and light which makes it ideal for transport.

It’s not a 2-in-1 but its keyboard and general structure are ideal for writing and the display is touchscreen.

Even if your home business includes heavy editing programs, you will have no problem with the strength of this computer, and the craft will always have you inspired.

Users report that this is the best Microsoft laptop ever, most of them assure there’s not even another Microsoft model to compare.

Microsoft Surface Laptop

Performance

If your goal is working and regular daily tasks you have a really good laptop that won’t leave you half way.

It’s not suitable for gaming but you can also watch movies and videos without a problem and it has zero reports of performance issues so it seems to be really functional in normal situations.

Booting, loading and shutting down is really fast and it doesn’t present any delay when changing from one app to another.

The tiny problem comes with the SSD which is actually pretty slow for this range and that may affect the data transfer and the writing rate but it’s actually a bit imperceptible unless you use that feature too hard or transfer a large amount of data.

Nevertheless, this slow SSD allows a better battery life.

PROS & CONS OF THE Microsoft Surface

PROS

  • Excellent resolution screen
  • 3:2 ratio allows more vertical space which is ideal for reading or writing documents.
  • The keyboard is simply delightful made for writing and really boosts productivity when it comes to small businesses.
  • Even though the battery doesn’t seem to endure the 14 promised hours, it still lasts 8 hours on average in full use so it’s decent.
  • Very good performance for any business and regular tasks.
  • Really thin for being such a powerful machine.
  • It includes Office so you won’t have problems for working on it at the moment you receive it.
  • It comes with Windows S pre-installed and you can change to Windows Pro for FREE anytime you want
  • Speakers are really decent compared to other laptops

CONS

#1. HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 Touch-Screen LaptopBest Laptop For a Home Business HP Spectre x360

This laptop couldn’t be anywhere else on this Top #10 home business laptops, even though it’s refurbished.

Being refurbished means that it uses parts of older laptops to build a new one so you have a slightly higher risk of receiving a malfunctioning laptop or maybe some battery issues,

But the truth is that HP rarely sends a refurbished gear that doesn’t seem brand new.

So, if you’re lucky enough you’ll find probably the best deal available in the market. Not only it has an incredible 7th gen processor but it also has the best resolution technology existing nowadays, 4k.

Plus, some other lucky guys might receive a Stylus pen with the packet (even when it’s not included in the original product) and some users even have reported receiving it sealed as if it was never used.

So this is the win-win lottery…

Of course, nothing can be perfect (not even #1) but the issues on this machine are really simple in comparison with all the previous home business laptops reviews we’ve checked.

Plus it comes with a 90 days warranty. So, if you’re looking for the perfect gear for starting your home business and also being able to perform all the regular tasks your laptop does, in just one machine!

If you want to help it cool down, you can detach the screen and it will slow down. Also, you can add an external fan if you feel uncomfortable with the heat, but it won’t affect the performance on this laptop.

  • Battery life is poor considering all the energy this machine needs. With light use, it might last up to 6 hours, but at full use, it would only achieve 3-4 hours while the company claims 15.
  • It’s not brand new, it’s refurbished nevertheless it’s certifies refurbished by HP so it’s trustable enough.

Great information, thanks Shwni! I desperately need to upgrade my laptop – it is so slow! Do you recommend a pc over a Mac for business use? I mainly do writing, but am probably going to branch out with a bit of video editing and graphic design in the near future. Look forward to your thoughts on this. Thanks for sharing, Cheers, Karen

I would think about looking at a new mac for business use, to be honest as they can do the same as a pc but they dont take up much space

Hi,

You have a fully loaded information here, great work I must say. You must be a guru to recognize all the pros and cons. So, I am wondering if there is a good portable computer that is affordable and reliable that you can recommend for me? I need it for traveling purposes.

Thanks,
Dorothy

I think the Dell Display UltraBook would be Ideal for what you are asking, It’s reasonably priced and has everything that you will need for traveling and working on the go

I always find the HP Spectre to be revolutionary in terms of commercial and affordable work laptops. It’s slim design combined with some powerful specs make it an efficient beast.

I’ll definitely have to pick up one soon.

Thanks for the great review Matt!

That is one of the great things that I love about the HP Spectre, I think people underestimate how good a laptop it really is.

Hi there!

What a long review! Really thoughtful and great, congrats! What do you think of a Macbook pro for business use. I am going to buy in these days an Imac 27 for the office and a macbook pro when on the go. I really love their stability and the system. Do you think are very good for business use as a marketer? Have a great day!

The Apple MacBook Pro is very good for a home business but I personally feel that it is a bit expensive, I suppose you get what you pay for but there are cheaper versions out there that do the same job like the ASUS ZenBook 13 Ultra-Slim Laptop which is a bit cheaper and does the same job. Take a look at it to see what you think

HI, Shwni,
I love your website. Can you help me out. I am looking to buy a laptop to travel with I prefer to work from a large screen. Around about £350 I want to pay. I am in the UK I am looking for a quick delivery too.

You have written great reviews here and I trust your Website and your Judgement. I have looked through some other sites and I keep coming back to your Website it is a good website and I can see you have great interactions. Having trust when buying online is a must. I have that here with your website 100%.
Can you give me any recommendations on a laptop around the £350 price range?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.
Kindest Regards Deborah.

Hi Deborah. Thanks so much for your awesome review of my site, its much appreciated.
I have looked long and hard to find you a suitable laptop for that price range and you won’t find one better than the Acer Chromebook R11
It has some amazing features and for only £250 used or £274 new…bargain!
Let me know if this isn’t what you were looking for and I will gladly keep looking for you.
Thanks for stopping by and hopefully you will keep coming back 🙂

Hi, Mathew,
I just checked that out do you know if I can get it in a larger screen. I dont know much about laptops any more. The laptop seems like a good choice. I just need a larger screen. Let me know if you can source another one for me. I want to purchase this weekend.

Hey and thank you so much for your quick response. It’s the quickest response I have ever had on a website. Brilliant.. Even better knowing I am in the right place.

Thank you Shwni.

Regards Deborah 🙂

I have found another one called the Acer Chromebook 14 which ticks all your boxes and has a 14-inch screen, either a 4gb or 2 gb ram and in full HD which is slightly bigger than the last
It’s only £150 used and £218 new for the 2gb and for the 4gb its £213 refurbished or £297 brand new
But if you want something bigger, which if I know women as much as I think I do, you probably will 😉 lol then I can take another look for you.
Just let me know 🙂

Hello There I love your review. Very informative for people who really need a good laptop it is very useful. I wanted to by a laptop for myself but then I decided to go with desktop. Because I’m not traveling much and if i do I have a Ipad. I’m currently own Samsung laptop but we all know how Windows operating system sucks so I would go with Mac anytime but they gonna cost you. well I guess you get what you paid for. Mac is forever and Windows laptops are for 3 years max.

Thank You for your review.

A Mac computer is most certainly a great choice, how do you like using your iPad to work online? I can’t say I have ever tried it myself

I really like the 2 in 1 laptops.  There is just so much that you can use your laptop for and the fact that you can then use it as a tablet gives it even more uses.  I really need a new laptop, mine is just about done with the screws missing and the one corner hinge separating from the base right near the plug area.  I have had it for awhile and am surprised that it still works.  You really need a laptop if you are doing business online and it is great to be able to take it anywhere you go.

I would be lost without my laptop but I also work on my tablet building my website so I have the best of both worlds so getting a 2 in 1 laptop would be ideal for me.

Although the article may be overly long for somebody just out for a read. I found it really well balanced and thorough and I think that anyone in the market for a business laptop would appreciate the thoroughness of the reviews in this article. For instance people just browsing are usually looking for a list sorted by product description and specs, or conversely products sorted by personal opinion. Although the site may suffer in that most viewers are lazy it will be a big hit for those who truly want an in-depth overview from all aspects.

I appreciate your honest opinion but I think that covering everything the laptops have and don’t have, I couldn’t write these reviews any other way

This is great I am starting my own business and I am always working in the corner it gets kinda clostraphobic sometimes. I have been thinking about getting a laptop for my business so I can work wherever I am.

I do like your #1 but ive always been a big Dell fan so I think I am going to try the Dell latitude 5580 laptop. For one its a little closer to my price range and two its a Dell. I have always had a good experience with them so I think I will take a chance on there not being very many reviews.

Do you know what the warranty on this lap top is?

Same here, I have always stuck with Dell myself but looking at the pros of the HP Spectre x360 I am thinking of converting myself, let me know if you need any help choosing for yourself ok

Thank you for this extensive top ten review on business laptop computers. It is interesting being able to see the brands, models, pros and cons listed side by side; very helpful when researching knowledgeable recommendations online. Even better is that you make the laptops simple to purchase on Amazon by sharing links. What a great service. I just bought a new iPad, but I think next time I’m in the market for a laptop I will look up a top ten list just like this. If you keep this page updated perhaps I’ll land here again… thanks for compiling this. Best, ~ Elaine

Lenovo is making it’s way to be one of the popular choices these days probably because of the price point and functionality. Of course, Mac would always be the best choice but for people who barely use different apps and  just want to keep things simple and easy, I think it’ll do. Anyway, laptops are good to use for about 2-3 years and then you have to purchase again because technology keeps on upgrading. What you have now may be obsolete after a year or two.

Thanks for this detailed review on each of your recommended laptops. I’m sure all of these will suit different needs of buyers.

Oh, of course, technology is always upgrading to bigger and better things so I will keep coming back to this list about the best laptops for business and keep updating it as fast as the laptops need updating 🙂

Excellent review; quite complete.  You have done a good piece of research here.

I had to get a new computer about a year ago when I started my new websites online.  I didn’t have much money and found a Lenovo on sale in June.  It’s a cheapy model, I am sure … it’s an “IdeaPad.”  The thing is, I’d never heard of a Lenovo before but had to go with what I could afford.  What is really super is that it has worked like a charm for the past year.  I hope it lasts a while longer, but think if I need to buy another, will upgrade to a fancier model of the Lenovo.  I’m now sold on this brand.

Do you know much about the Lenovo?  It seems to be a good machine, so why had I never heard of it?  Do you think I’d be wise to upgrade when it is time, or would I be better off with another brand?

My last laptop was a Lenovo that I used for my online business but it became outdated and now I have a Chromebook which I love.

I would certainly update your laptop regularly, maybe every 2 to 3 years or something like that?

I am overwhelmed with the amount of information you put into this review.  I have been a fan of dell computers for a long time and usually buy the basic models with some added ram.  They continue to amaze me on how reliable they are but I do not travel with them.

I had not thought about that aspect in a laptop life if consistently carrying it on your travels.  Your review helped me to see the need to consider that aspect when purchasing a new one.

I noticed you include several refurbished models in your post.  While they add an important aspect; that is cost, I wonder if they are worth saving the money considering that they are used.

Since much of my work is done with a desktop model do you have any recommendations?

Thanks so much for a through review.

Ray

Just because they have been refurbished, doesn’t mean they won’t work just as well, if not better than 🙂

When anyone in my family needs a new computer they come to me. I usually shop for mine at a local pawn shop.

I did buy a new one for my husband recently and he loves it, although he only uses it for work.

I am partial to Toshiba, Acer, Asus, and HP. In fact, my last 2 laptops and the one I’m using now is an HP. Even though I bought it from a pawn shop, it is an incredible machine with a 17-inch touchscreen and 1t hard drive.

I use it for gaming, writing, school, and work, but I have been thinking of getting another laptop just for business use. I am particularly interested in the HP Spectre, as I have always wanted a 2 in 1 but you don’t find those often in pawn shops :).
My eyes are going south, so I really prefer a larger screen. DOes the Spectre come any bigger than the 13- inch?
I also see it is has a 512GB drive. Does it come specced with a larger drive or can I upgrade it myself?

Thanks so much for this awesome review. Very timely.
